Advertising Disclosure

Headcount Journal carries advertising and paid partner content. This page states exactly how we mark it, so you can never confuse what we wrote with what someone paid to place.

How we mark paid partner content

  • Firstly, a Partner content label on the article and on every card that links to it.
  • Secondly, a disclosure box at the top naming the company that paid for it, where they have agreed to that.
  • Thirdly, no place in the main editorial feed or in RSS.
  • Finally, outbound links that the site software marks rel="sponsored nofollow", rather than an editor’s memory, so no search engine treats them as an endorsement.

What we accept

Partner content from companies working in HR technology, payroll and benefits, recruiting, and workplace services — the field this publication covers. Equally, it meets the same accuracy and usefulness bar as editorial: a reader here has to plausibly want to read it.

What we decline

  • Anything outside what this publication covers.
  • Gambling and casino, adult content, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis and CBD, cryptocurrency speculation, payday and other high-cost lending.
  • Legal, medical or financial claims we cannot verify — including compliance guarantees.
  • Requests to add commercial references to articles we have already published.
  • Requests to present commercial material as independent editorial, or to remove the labelling above.

How Headcount Journal pays for itself

Advertising and paid partner content pay for it. We disclose that because a reader is entitled to know how a publication supports itself, and because the editorial policy only means something if you know what it is separating.
